REMINDER: No Ear Has Heard

Four years ago, in September 2015, I had traveled to Italy. When I travel I have a rule, and that is when I travel, I'll do one tour just to make sure I don't miss anything. However, my favorite thing to do is to go exploring on my own. In doing so, I find hidden treasures and last minute surprise like this painting.

As I was walking down one of the streets in Milano, an Italian man said hello to me and I'm sure he was thinking I didn't speak Italian. Imagine the surprise when I replied to his compliment in Italian. Men, heads up, sometimes ladies understand what you say.

Anyway, it wasn’t anything mean. He said in Italian I was beautiful and I’m sure his intention wasn’t for me to know what he said. I couldn’t help myself; I had to respond, using an entire paragraph. Anyway, that led to me seeing this amazing portrait by Leonardo DaVinci, “The Last Supper.”

He asked me where I was from and where I was going. I told him just experiencing my country. He then said, “Did you see the painting of the Last Supper?” I asked him where can I see this? He gave me the address and told me I had to have tickets to see it, and those tickets are sold months and months ahead. I said Ciao to the guy, and headed to this place. Of course, there were no more tickets. The next tickets were available six months away. I thanked the lady and started to walk away. All of a sudden a man came from the back. He said in Italian, “You speak Italian, you have a little bit of an accent your from New York?” I started talking to him, and the next thing I heard him say was, “Let her in,” to the lady behind the counter. I didn’t know the man was the manager. I was so happy. I gave the man a hug and went in to tour this amazing little museum, showcasing this beautiful painting of, “The Last Supper.” I took the picture because my cell phone didn’t have a flash. So, the tour guide let me. I had to stand from a specific place so it wouldn’t hurt the picture.

I think about this picture often, not only because of what it represents only but also because this was a God-surprise to me. I didn’t have tickets to get in for the time period I was in Italy. In a weird turn of events it was meant, God ordained, I see this place. I kept on thinking, “God what is it you are trying to teach me through this?” Here we are four years later, and I catch a glimpse of an important truth.

Please read the following verse with me found in 1 Corinthians 2:9 which states, “but just as it is written, "THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM."

I hear this morning clearly, do you? There are special surprises that are awaiting us along life’s journey. Sometimes, we step out to a non known adventure. Like I do when I’m traveling to foreign lands. I had to walk, no one could have done that for me. I had to speak, reply to the guy on the street, in a respectful manner, and not embarrass him. I had to go and check out for myself, even though I was told I wouldn’t be able to get in. You see all the things I had to do to catch a glimpse of this picture?

There’s something you must do for yourself in order for you to catch a glimpse of what He has prepared for you. You must love God. We don’t love Him because of only what He can do for us. But we love Him for WHO HE IS. Just like we walk on life’s journey. We must walk with Him by doing things His way. We follow His Word. We obey His Word. We adhere to His Word. We practice His Word. We believe His Word. We respect and honor His Word. Just like I spoke to the people involved in this story. We speak His Word. We memorize His Word. We encourage ourselves in His Word. We proclaim it and claim His Word. We write it in our heart and mind. We never go away from His Word. We do what His Word says to do. We meditate on His Word. Got the picture? It should be vivid to you.

Finally, we find favor. I found favor in the eyes of the manager of the museum. He let me in. God is like that. “Esther pleased the King, and he made her the Queen.” Today, this beautiful surprise, as I walked down the street in Milano, reminds me strongly God has many great and beautiful surprises for my life. No ear has heard, no eye has seen. However, these amazing things are prepared for those who love Him. They are prepared by God Himself to bless our devotion and obedience.

God has blessed me. People He has blessed me in the many surprises of life. Even in the worst of moments God gave me little glimpses of what was and is to come ahead of me. Our God is real. We are meant to rule and overcome every situation that comes our way. Loving God spells complete victory. We love God by deeds and devotion. If your actions don’t align with God’s Word check yourself. There’s too much to loose when your not following His Word. It puts us out of His will. When that happens we are the losers. Not me, I will not loose one thing.

Living the blessed life means you do things God’s way. Regardless, of what anyone has to say. Those who are blessed are seen. There are miracles, and places they go too. They are in the supernatural realm. This place is astounding to the public eye. But then, no eye has seen. There are unheard blessings we experience. But then no ear has heard.

May this verse be your portion, in Jesus name. May they say of you, “No Eye and No Ear could have seen, heard, or imagined what is happening in your life.”
