The Scariest Verse in the Bible

“He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul. But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.” -Ezekiel 33: 5-6
This verse scares me to death. With all due respect, it should scare every minister of the Word of God, every Bible teacher and every teacher that teaches in any religious class. Do you know, we who claim to preach and teach, are that watchmen?
I have made many friends and a lot more enemies due to this verse. People come to me and ask me to pray for them. They don’t, at first understand how seriously, I take prayer. Let me explain, I will receive a call, text by phone, or text on Facebook Messenger about a prayer request. I get before God, and sometimes, I will fast on behalf of that person if God tells me to. As I make the request, God will tell me what He’s going to do. So many of you here, who asked me to pray for you, received back a message of whatever it was God told me to tell you. Those are great moments. We saw God perform a miracle in your lives.
Then, there are those other moments. They are the moments where God warns the person and gives specific instructions on what to do. However, they don’t like what God tells them to do. So, they get mad at me as if I am God. I so wish I had that kind of power, but I don’t. I’m just a normal human. But, here, is where it’s the saddest for me: People want me to pray God changes the situations in their lives because they are suffering, and they want out of trouble. Yet, they are unyielding to the Word of God. It’s so sad for me. When God gives me a warning for someone He also tells me how they will respond and what He’s going to do. I am only to give the word. I never tell the person I already know what they will do and what God will do. However, the blood is no longer on my hands. I did and said exactly what God instructed me to do.
I’m speaking first to the watchmen. Listen very carefully please. It is not our job to sugarcoat anything. We see destruction coming; we have no choice. We speak out the truth. We warn. It’s not our job to make anyone do what they don’t want to do. It’s our job to speak and warn the person especially when you are praying for them. What they choose to do is on them, not us. No matter how hard it is we do not argue with anyone. We accept their decision, and make it clear we do not agree but respect their choice.
We should also understand that there is such a thing as attending prayer meetings that are simply a big noise to God. There are prayer meetings you shouldn’t be a part of. Yes, you read that correctly. I find many prayer meetings to be all about the glory of God and nothing about repentance and seeking the will of God. We have it all wrong. This why prayer meetings have just a few people. False prophet words arise, and there's no power. I was asked to attend a prayer meeting. I was so excited. Then, God told me not to go to the prayer meeting. Can you believe God told me not to go to a prayer meeting? And worse, to tell the pastor the reason God didn’t want me to go. God told me in plain words. “If you go, you're going to pray. I will hear your prayer and reveal the reasons why I’m not going to hear their prayers. They are not ready to change. You will be hated. Do not go to that prayer meeting.” That’s right; I had no choice. I had to tell that pastor. They had that prayer meeting anyway. It lasted but a few weeks, and then no more. Just like God told me would happen. My Board at Thread of Hope, Inc. knew this story.
If you're going to pray seriously for people, you're a watchman to what God will show you.
Let me please address those who ask for prayer. Please understand this, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” You see, I want righteous people to pray for me because I know God will hear them. There’s a few people I have asked to pray for me, and even asked them pray and ask God if there’s any sin in me. Ask God to reveal anything about me that displeases Him. I’ve asked this of pastors, their wives, and others I know live a righteous life. Many are reading this post and know I asked them. So far no one has come back to say anything to me. I thank God. But, if anyone did, I would take what was said and call the rest of my close friends and tell them to pray over the word of warning with me. I hold myself accountable to leadership, and so should you. This is my point. When you ask someone to pray for you, you need to be sure these people can be trusted with your request and what spirit are they of.
In conclusion, watching your brother or sister in sin and looking the other way is going to get you into a lot of trouble. God will hold you responsible for their blood. Please read the entire chapter. It’s so important to understand this warning is for all of us. If you are warned and you decide to live in your sin and make excuses for it, it’s on you. You are now in, what I call, double trouble because you know what to do, but you refuse to obey God. You're of a rebellious spirit. You're going to pay a price for your sin. A very dangerous position to be in. If you don’t repent, you will get His wrath. I understand, this isn’t a favorite topic, but I felt for the last few weeks I needed to share this verse.
Please, if your a watchman, warn. Even at the cost of being hated and mistreated. I understand. I’ve been there. It hurts but rather the wrath of man than the wrath of God. If your being warned please understand it’s not a choice for us. When God shows us something, we have to tell you especially, if you ask us to pray for you. This brings me to another point. Be very careful who you ask prayer from. Not every spirit is the Spirit of God speaking. I have received words God told me ahead of time so and so "will come and tell you this and that; Reject the word it is not of me."
People, I rather have God walk with me so closely than the friendship of the entire world. I’ve gotten used to people lying about me, saying and doing hurtful things behind my back because of this issue. The Hand of God is mighty to save. Who can stand before His Hand? As I see so very clear in my life, nobody! God takes care of His own. The Hand of God is evident on the lives of His own. He delivers them from ALL troubles. Do what God tells you to do. Be a godly watchman.
