God Doesn't Work In A Box

Yesterday, I told my kids we were taking a trip out of the country to hurry up and pack. Since my daughter, Ellianna, was ahead of her school work by one month and my son, Justin, was reading a book that he’s expected to write about. I figured they could get it done while we traveled except I forgot my passport, license, credit card, and money at home. My wallet was sitting on the dining room table, and I had no choice I had to go back home. I discovered my mistake too late.
I was so upset because I had planned on finishing my fast and prayer regarding a few future plans. I thought I had to get away from everything to find my answers. It was the very last day of my fast, and I had felt completely defeated. I thought to myself that since my fast end today I don’t think I’m going to get my answers. So, I went to bed and turned the TV on. The movie playing was the life of Debbie Gibson. I hate watching TV. I think it’s such a waste of time, making me feel even worse. However, there’s always an "Aha! Moment." The very end of the movie, she sang a song called "Lost In Your Eyes." Who knew one song God would use to show me a real truth?

Sometimes we put God in a box. We tell Him what we think He should do and how He should do it. Or if you are like me, you start acting like a lawyer trying to tell Him why certain things He is leading to cannot be correct. They don’t make sense, looks complicated, and are too difficult; there's no assurance, and the list goes on.
It doesn’t work that way with God. He sees past, present, and future. He knows things to come. He does everything perfectly. Therefore, we can either run into His will or run away from His will. The message tonight is a simple one. Let’s run into His will. Let’s chase His will no matter what. Let His will stand and let His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
I didn’t have to leave the country to get my answer. I got my answer in living my life as I have always done and, constantly, hearing with my ears which way I should go whenever I turned to the right or to the left. By keeping my eyes open and fixed on God, I can see the truth. It is God’s truth that guides and leads me in the steps I need to take. Many times God and I don’t see eye to eye. This why we call it a walk of faith because we walk by faith and not by sight.
Sometimes, the truth is staring right at us. It’s in front of our face. We are looking at it eye to eye. Truth is seen in the eyes. The eyes are the gateway to the heart.
Friends, follow God and follow what He places in your heart. Live for Him and He will never leave you. He will show you the path to take. You will see the truth. I believe God answered me just as I know entered the final few hours of finishing my fast today. Thank You, God, for always being faithful.
