Incredible Story!

I was listening to Christmas songs on the radio. Delilah, the radio host, told a story that is so incredible I had to ask my children what they heard. I couldn’t believe it. May it bring you hope never to let go today.

Several years back, a young woman called the radio station during Christmas. The woman told Delilah she had been married for only six months when her husband had to take a flight from one of the Philippines islands to another. The plane went down. The people on board, and the plane were never found. The young bride told Delilah that she believed in her heart her husband was still alive and wanted her to play a song in case he heard it. Delilah was so touched by the love of this woman towards her husband she asked for a picture of her late husband.

Delilah put his picture up on all sorts of websites. She carried the picture with her and prayed for this woman. Years later, she was invited as a guest speaker in the Philippines. While there, she was invited to the home of a well-known medical director of a local hospital. A man came in, and the medical director told her, “That man is a good man. He’s been with us a long time. I found him in on the beach, and I pulled him out of the water. I saved his life. He was badly hurt and has amnesia. He doesn’t know who he is.”

Delilah, had his picture on her and knew who he was. She knew his name. She called out his name, and he immediately remembered everything. It was on December 18th, days before Christmas. She booked a plane ticket for him and personally took him back with her to the USA. On December 24th, she dressed up in a red suit and showed up at his wife’s house, who never remarried. She was still hoping her husband somehow didn’t die in the plane wreck and would come home. She rang the doorbell and then pulled the man from behind her. The woman was in shock. The couple held each other, cried, and kissed, etc.

This couple has been married for 30 years now, with kids, and grandkids. Delilah continues to be friends with this couple and shares this story every Christmas. Maybe some of you heard it.

I was reminded of this Bible verse in 1 Corinthians 13:7, “Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”

True love never gives up. Never loses faith. And most importantly, endures through every pain. Imagine a love that caused a young woman to defy all logic. A plane went down in the middle of the ocean. People must of called her all sorts of names. She didn’t care. Her heart kept her steady, unmoved by the illogical ideas, thoughts, and circumstances. She didn’t care that everyone said it was impossible for her husband to still be alive. What’s even crazier is that a radio personality felt the need to ask for that man’s picture and carry it with her for years.

You see, God had already planned how this story would end, and picked Delilah to use to bring about the miracle. What are the odds? This is the most unbelievable story I have ever heard. I literally cried tears of joy for this couple.

God was speaking to me so strongly through this story.

God is God! Period! He does the impossible. When God puts something in your heart, it’s done. The question is will you give up? I wonder how many people throughput history gave up on incredible miracles that were meant for them? I wonder how things would have worked out if they had the courage to obey and follow their hearts? I wonder how many other people really care about the hopeless situations people go through, and actually feel compelled to help another? Thank God that Delilah acted on what her heart felt and asked for that man’s picture. Thank God she just didn’t add on the radio website to appease the woman. Thank God she kept it with her, and thank God, she was led to speak in the Philippines. Thank God she accepted the dinner invite. Thank God, she was led with passion to believe that man could be alive. Even if years had now gone by.

What is in YOUR heart today? What has God placed in there? I know sometimes giving up seems the easiest thing. Sometimes pride, or anger arises causing us to make decisions not of Him but by the flesh. Don’t loose out on the miracles and destiny of your life because you gave up. Follow your heart. The heart always knows. I believe that’s God’s gift to us. To believe what He placed there is for you to stand on. It will come to pass if you don’t give up. Please don’t make decisions in anger. Stand by what God has placed in your heart. Be humble. God blesses the humble. Stand true to what is in your heart.

If the love is real it will last. Real Love isn’t fickle. Real love? It keeps on loving, caring, hoping, believing, real love keeps on going. Love endures.

May this love story inspire all of us to never give up hope in love or those whom we love.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, You are the God of Love, and You are Hope. Thank You for being the God of miracles. Thank You for being the God who makes the Impossible Possible. Thank You for Your gift of life. Father, I believe You to work out the impossible situations in my life, knowing You are God and that You are able to do beyond what I could ever ask or think.
