The importance of self-control is essential to keep a sane and holy mind, and often times, we get carried away with our anger, using our mouths as weapons of mass destruction. It can be hard to control our mouths, but with help from the Lord, it can be done because with God all things are possible.
Anger comes in many ways and shapes, but it is up to us to control and vent it properly. Words can kill so in anger use words sparingly. If you do not control your mouth, it will lead to trouble and sin. The Bible says, in Colossians 3:8(ESV), "But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth." This verse explains how we should put away all bad talk, and replace sinful speech with words of kindness. The Bible also says, in Titus 1:8(ESV), "But hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined." We need to have self-control and be disciplined in order to hear the Voice of God and adhere to His words. Anger must be controlled, and with the help of Lord, you will get over your anger and gain self-control, and evil words will leave you when you seek the Lord's help! PRAYER: Father, forgive me of my anger and my foul mouth. Help me to have the self control needed to control my anger and to control my mouth, and Father, help me to walk in Your footsteps. In Jesus' Name, Amen!
