The dictionary says: "of... form a mental image of something that is not present or that is not the case; 'Can you conceive of him as...'"
It is God who impregnates us with images, ideas, and thoughts. Those things are not present at the moment. They are images in your mind. It is up to you to take what He shows you and give it birth. You see, in the human form, a woman gets pregnant, but she doesn’t know the sex of the child right away. She’s planning for a baby to come forth. Pink or blue? She doesn’t know, but the excitement is there. It’s the same with the rest of the conception of ideas, dreams, and thoughts. We don’t fully know all we are about to birth.
What has God conceived in you? I see way to many people abort what God conceived in their mind and heart. Listen, when God gives a word, it is a conception moment. We must, then, have faith in God to bring it about in His way, not ours. We must trust the complete sovereignty of who He is by how He will do it. We make mistakes here as humans. We bring our own ideas and thoughts into the conception. Remember, it is God who decides the sex of the baby, not the mother. Stay with me here, please.
During the conception, we must keep things and ponder them in our own heart like Mary did. A pregnant woman usually waits a bit before announcing the pregnancy to be sure she really is pregnant. The second mistake we often make is here: we run to tell our friends before we are sure what we conceived is really going to take place.
Mary when she went to Elizabeth's house, and upon her arrival, Elizabeth began to prophecy what was already conceived in Mary. Do you get this point? Elizabeth saw by the Spirit, Mary was pregnant with a boy, a Savior, the Messiah. Didn’t God lead Mary to go see Elizabeth in the first place? You see, God sends us to the people that will help us birth our promises! A pregnant woman goes to her doctor for confirmation and support. God sends spiritual people our way too.
God had promised the Messiah. He was going to bring forth what He promised. Mary needed to ponder it, have faith in God, trust God no matter what people had to say about her, and surround herself with the godliest of people. In her case with her aunt Elizabeth and uncle Zachariah who was the priest. Could she have been led anyone more godly than them?
Finally, she had to wait the required time for what was conceived by God to come to pass. For her, it was nine months, the time in which it takes to give birth to a baby. For other things, it might be 9 hours, 9 days, 9 months, 9 years... it doesn't matter the time. What's important is you do not abort the dreams, visions, and promises of God for your life.
You take the steps necessary to birth that which God conceived in you. Just like a pregnant woman who prepares for the birth of her child. This is really all up to you. God has given us examples after examples of the blessings God gave to those who had faith and trusted in Him and who maintained their godly character in their conception time. They were not concerned about what others believed or said about them. Remember, Noah, while building the ark, was laughed at and made fun of. He didn’t pay attention. He simply did what God asked of him. He and his family were saved and the entire human race saved.
Keep in mind people have prejudices and jealousy, not to mention some of them do not have right standing before God. Paying attention to them kills your dreams, the seed that was given you at conception. Therefore, we don't pay attention to those people. This is why you go to the Elizabeths and the Zachariahs. They will be shown by God and shown by the Spirit how to pray and support that which God conceived in you. The seed is preserved by those who move by God’s Spirit, not theirs.
Then, you wait on God's appointed time to birth it. Truths about birthing. You don't quit in the middle of the birth. What woman says, "Forget this baby that's in me. I'll walk around pregnant for the rest of my life.” Or forget it as she's half way in the middle of the baby coming out, I'm going home?" It would mean death for her and the baby. Is it clear what God is saying to you today? Bring forth that which is conceived in you. Don’t die with your dream inside of you too.
God wants you not to give up on the promises He has conceived and confirmed to you. His way not yours. Remember, it’s God who chooses what the birthed dreams look like in the end. Just like He chooses the sex and the color of the eyes, hair, etc. of the baby. Don't listen to every voice; test the spirit. In the wilderness, there were 10 spies that said, "No, this not of God, and two that said, "Yes, God's promise is that land!" Only two went in and possessed the promise of God. The other ten aborted the conceived vision. They lost out, but Joshua and Caleb and their children enjoyed the promise of God, God's way, surrounded by those who in the spirit supported what God conceived. Please ponder this today.
Be careful whom you trust with the dreams and visions God has given you. Giants are won only by people of great faith. Little faith defeats little giants. Giant faith defeats giant challenges and brings forth gigantic victories and unimaginable dreams. “The eyes of the Lord go to and fro the whole earth looking for hearts that are fully committed to him so he can show himself strong on their behalf.”
Stay the course. Have faith, trust God, be with people like minded, wait upon the Lord. His time is the best. Has His eye located you to conceive something in your mind?

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, Your Word goes forth and accomplishes the purpose for which it was sent and will not come back void. Thank You for the plans You have for my life. Thank You for the visions and dreams You have given me. Lord, give me the strength to carry out the tasks You have placed before me. I give myself to You, and I bow my heart humbly before You, surrendering myself to Your will and to Your ways. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
