Lifestyles Matter To God

Does the way you live your life honor or dishonor God? The world today is filled with sinful and non-sinful choices that pertain to our lifestyles. Some honor God with their lifestyles while others choose to dishonor God. The Bible teaches us to honor our fathers and mothers, and the promise is that we will have a long life on the earth. If we can honor our parents, we can honor God. That is the first step to living a Godly life. On the other hand, if children are brought up to dishonor their parents, they will live a ungodly life and dishonor God. Each of us have a decision to make as to whether or not we will live a godly or ungodly life. Don't just think about the short-term consequences of living an ungodly life. Advise yourself of and consider the long-term consequences of living an ungodly life.

So, why do people choose to defile the Lord with their lifestyles? It's because they want their own will (the will of man) vs the will of God, and they want to partake in sin rather than God's will because they have rejected God completely.

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.” -John 3:16-21(NLT)

Don't reject the ways God but reject the ways of evil if you want to be blessed. If you are walking down the wrong path, walking down the wrong path will cause you to have problems you never expected to happen! Remember this, God sent His only Son to save you from your sins. If you are walking down a road with lifestyle choices that are sinful, you can be saved from your sins because Christ shed His blood that you might be saved. REFLECTION: "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all," Isaiah 53:6 (ESV). This verse speaks truth to those who need hope. It means yes we have all turned away from the will of God and walked down our own path, and in accordance with the Word of God, 1 John 1:9 states, "If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Remember we can confess our sins to God, and because of the blood of Christ that was shed for our iniquities, we are forgiven. So take this Hope. Grow in faith turn away from evil lifestyles, and yes, it is possible to turn away from sin for The Good Shepherd always rescues his flock! And fear not for the Lord is with you!

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, search me, O God, and know my heart. Examine me. You see my every thought and know them. Show me anything within me that displeases and offends You. Guide me along Your path that leads me to eternal life. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
