Being a mediocre believer is a believer who doubts the Lord and does not think God can work in their lives; their faith is not to the level it should be. Discernment has now gone out the window within the mediocre believer.
"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect," (Romans 12:2ESV). This is a powerful verse with an even more powerful meaning and here is the meaning, the first part says, "Do not be conformed to the world." What this means is that the ways of the world are so evil and twisted that we as believers should and WILL not act like the world unless we want our faith to go away completely. The second part of the verse says "but be transformed by the renewal of your mind." This is most important for the mediocre believer because when Christ came into your heart, you were born again with a clear mind and new mind, with discernment and understanding, but what does the mediocre believer do with this information? They doubt it because they are not rooted in Christ because doubt and mediocrity are not of God.
REFLECTION: "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours," (Mark 11:24ESV). What a promise God gave us! So now the question arises, "How do I get rid of this doubting and mediocrity?" A simple answer is Prayer. Prayer is one of the key elements to fight doubt and mediocrity. Beloved, I encourage you today to ask God to help you to get rid of this mediocrity and doubt for these things are not of God but of Satan.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I'm sorry for doubting You and Your Word. I'm sorry for letting complacency get the best of me. You are the God of Faithfulness and desire wholehearted obedience and loyalty of those who claim to be Your children. The basic law of the temple is holiness, and by having a divided heart, I have broken that law. Father, I ask for Your forgiveness. Cleanse me as only You can do. I bow my heart to You, committing myself to You and Your ways. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
