"The Lord also keeps safe those who suffer. He is a safe place in times of trouble. Those who know Your name will put their trust in You. For You, O Lord, have never left alone those who look for You." -Psalms 9:9-10

A few years back, I had a conversation with some of my friends. We were discussing suffering. When I went home that night, I couldn't sleep. I was thinking about what my friends and I were discussing. It bothered me of all the suffering in the lives of my friends. Imagine when I woke up the next morning still thinking about this subject and the above passage was the reading of the day. It was just there, right before my eyes. I didn't have to search it. God just brought it to my attention.

You see, there was something He wanted me to know and to share with my friends too. God strongly remind me who He is and who I am in Him! So, then, what about "those that suffer?" God Almighty, our wonderful Lord, keeps us safe in it. No matter the suffering He has allowed you to walk through, the King of kings, the Lord of lords is keeping you safe and walking with you through it. Please catch this truth! He might have allowed you to walk down a road of suffering, but you're walking through it with God Almighty Himself right there besides you. You are walking with His Majesty, and He will see you through it.

You ask how? By not allowing the trial to swallow you up, by still living in the land of the living with His power, His might, His anointing, His peace, His love, His goodness, His mercy, His prearranged way of escape in your very trial. God will never allow the trial to break or destroy you. We serve the Living God. He is a moving mountains, separating seas, and rivers, sending manna to the ground, and gushing, fresh water from a rock kind of God. In all things, He is there. Through the storming ocean and through the intense fire, He is there! He has you in the grip of His hands, and He will not let you go. He is the Safe Place in the very heart of the storm.

So, then, who does He have in His hands? Those who KNOW His name, that's who! Do you really, really know His name? If the answer is, "No!" I plead with you to find out who this great God is. He said to Moses, "I Am Who I Am!" You can ask for yourself too. Go ahead ask, "I Am Who I Am" to show Himself to you personally. I promise He will. If your answer is, "I know Him personally already," then put your trust and hope in Him. Those who know Him do not put their trust in chariots, horses, or people. They put their trust and hope in the Great I Am, Ruler and Creator of the universe and of our very lives. Those who know Him, know they can trust Him to see them through the storm, and He will bless them as they go through it victoriously to the other side.

REFLECTION: The promise of God in this passage is very clear. It says, "For You, O Lord, have never left alone those who look for You." My friends look for Him. He will not leave you alone. Look for Him in your trials. Look for Him in your joy. Look for Him in all things. Good or bad, joy or sorrow, peace or suffering. He is there as your Place of Safety. Yes, Lord, thank you. You will never abandon your people. You will lead those who are struggling and hurting gently. Those who are down and hopeless you bring hope. You carry those who are broken, hurt, and suffering. You will safely bring them to the other. Those who trust you in their trials, they will fly as eagles because their hope and trust is in God. The righteous will always be saved. In this world we will have many troubles, but God shall deliver us of them ALL!

Be encouraged today. God has a safe place for you in your trial. You are under His personal protection wherever you go. You are under His mighty wings for shelter. He is holding you by your right hand. You are in the grip of His hand. He will never let go of you. Your life is hidden with Christ. You don't need to be afraid. He has never left alone those who look for Him.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, You are my Strong Tower, my Refuge, my Place of Safety. Thank You for being with me in every trial and every situation that comes my way. Thank You for being unchanging in this changing world filled with chaos. Father, I place my trust in You, knowing my trust in You is not misplaced. You, O God, are my Rock, and upon You I shall stand. My soul does not need to be downcast because I put my hope in You. Lord, continue to give me strength and help me to remain steadfast in You. I commit to You all my ways. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
