The Holy Spirit Has Been Around Since the Beginning of Time

"Now the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters." -Genesis 1:2(BSB)

The Holy Spirit, also called the Holy Ghost, is the Third Person of the Holy Trinity. The Holy Spirit has been around since the beginning of time, and He is seen throughout the Old Testament times and then we see Him throughout the New Testament as well. The Holy Spirit was with those we read about in the pages of Scriptures such as Moses and Daniel, and the Holy Spirit is with us even today and always. The Holy Spirit had first shown Himself and His relevance in Genesis 1:2(BSB), which states, "And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters," when God had created the world. The Holy Spirit was there at creation. We can see the Holy Spirit coming in the form of the Fire of God in Numbers 11:3(NASB)which states, "So the name of that place was called Taberah, because the fire of the LORD burned among them."

Throughout Bible History, there has always been a presence of the Spirit of the Lord. From the time of the birth and crucifixion of Christ, the Lord's Holy Fire has been dwelling within the true followers of Him! We often hear about church services when the Holy Spirit "falls" and impacts the service when the Holy Spirit is already in us. So why are we waiting for the Holy Spirit to fall when He already lives in us? Why do we wait for the Holy Spirit to "show up" when He is already in us? Ever since Christ rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, the Spirit has been given and installed within us!

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me Your Holy Spirit, and never let me take advantage of Your Holy Spirit. I ask that You always make me aware of the presence of Your Holy Spirit so I might not grieve Him. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
