“The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to anyone who seeks help from him.”
-Proverbs 3:25 (GW)
One particular morning, I found myself studying the word, “Good.” at 1: 22 AM. This word, good was the topic of my discussion with a great friend and colleague of mine.
I saw the verse above. It reminded me of my conversation. I decided to study the word itself and this is what I found.
The word, “Good” in this verse refers to the character of God. No wonder words like superior, superb, magnificent, exceptional, marvelous, and awesome just to name a few are associated with describing this word, and it’s meaning of “Good.” In other words, God is all these things. Therefore, we can expect a first-class and first-rate outcome from the God who cannot fail.
My friend asked me point blank, “Please will you give me your opinion?” I told my friend, I don’t like the word opinion. Opinions are not realities. I can have an opinion that is absolutely wrong. I never use the word opinion for this reason. I don’t want opinions from anyone, and no one should want it from me. I like the word, “Facts.” Facts are realities. I proceeded to give my friend the realities of her situation, which I knew I was 100% percent correct in what I said.
She said, “Oh my God, you totally rearranged my entire life. I need time to adjust to what you just told me. My brain needs to catch up to everything you just said.” I laughed so loud, but the truth is I wanted the very best for my friend because this person deserved it.
I explained how God is good and wants to bless her.
You see, I believe it’s very clear what God is telling us. “Anyone that seeks Him for help,” He will be good to them. The meaning of, “Good,” continues to describe it as capable, talented, mastery, and able. Isn’t God all of these things? He’s an expert in every single situation we are faced with. He is brilliant and skilled, outstanding and excellent in all He does. Every single plan He makes for us is with precise proficiency.
We can hand Him control of our lives, trusting Him and His timing to bring out the beauty in what He is doing for us. I told her, “Listen up, sometimes you must step out in faith, not fearing no matter how scary it might seem to you. Sometimes you have to take control, and be fearless. Sometimes our faith must rise up and take the leap. Sometimes we have to just do it. We never know until we try. We can never ever be afraid of failure. The greatest mistakes are those that paralyze you and keep you in bondage. Go! I’m pushing you out of the nest and I’m expecting a “good” report.
I told her I have this rule in life. Everything I feel, think, and do must be confirmed by God’s Word. Imagine my surprise as I was getting ready for bed, and picked my Bible just to read. I was reading, this passage and decided to study the word, “Good” when she sent me texted me a message. I responded with, “You have a great future! Play it well. God has opened doors for YOU. Don’t shut them without at least looking to see where it leads you!”
I am telling my friends out there all over the world, “The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to anyone who seeks help from him.”
Look again at those descriptive words for, “Good.” Is there any doubt in your mind He will not help you? I think I found a new word I love.
There’s an absolutely fabulous and fantastic life waiting for you. We wait for His timing, and then we step out, with faith and confidence that, “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” God used my friend to reaffirm His goodness o me, and He showed me to tell my friend. I’m feeling excited for all of us today. Let this word burn in your heart and radically change YOU and launch YOU to YOUR destiny.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, You are the Destiny Creator, and You have designed a plan and destiny for me. Strengthen me as I step out in faith into the future You have for me. I will trust in You and not lean on my own understanding and will be careful to acknowledge You in all my ways, knowing You are the God Who Directs my path. Thank You, Lord, for giving me the opportunity to progress in You, to grow and be rooted and grounded in Your Word and in the love of Christ. I commit all my ways into Your hand and ask where there is unbelief help my unbelief for You have not given me a spirit of fear but of love and of power and of a sound mind. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
