Not To Be Taken For Granted

The promises of God are not to be taken for granted. When we go through trials and tribulations, we can see fully for ourselves how faithful God is in fulfilling His promises. God fulfills the covenant between you and him. Are you faithful in keeping your part of the covenant to honor Him by walking in His ways? In the Bible, one of the examples of God's promises is shown in the story of Abraham. He was waiting for God's promise of him having a son. He waited for God to fulfill that promise, and when he was 100 years old, his son Isaac was born; and even though Abraham sinned in this time of waiting he remembered the promises God made him. The Bible says in Numbers 30:2 (GW), "If a man makes a vow to the Lord that he will do something or swears an oath that he won’t do something, he must not break his word. He must do everything he said he would do."

Here is a prime example honoring a covenant with God and this is important for dealing with everyday life. This verse is a commandment to honor the Lord our God. If we honor and obey Him with, God will honor us because we honored Him.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, You are the One that I seek and the One I put my hope and trust in for You, O God, are forever faithful to Your Word and Your promises. You are faithful to me. Help me to always remember You come first in all things and that I was created to honor and worship You, that I was created for Your good pleasure according to Your Word. Above You there is no other. Be my Strength and my Guide. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
