GOD, where are you in all of this?

“God where are you in all of this. What are you doing?”

Have you ever asked this question? I found myself asking this question a lot lately, trying so very hard to understand. Then came His reply, “I’m everywhere and in everything that concerns you. It’s not about where I am and what I’m doing. It’s all about you seeing Me in all of it.”

Please catch this. It’s not that God is not in all of our times. He holds the times of our life in His hands-all of it-the good, bad, joyous, sorrowful, regrets, confusing. He is in all of those moments. What we fail to see is that He is right there in each moment and time-in everything.

Do those sad moments serve a purpose? Yes, and what about the days filled with confusion and sorrow? Those moments serve a purpose as well, and He is there. He is shaping and molding you, creating that masterpiece called your life.

Here is the reason why we don’t always understand and then ask, “God where are you in this?”

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” -Isaiah 55:9

We can’t possible fathom all God is doing because our thoughts are limited to what we know from past and immediate. We are clueless to understand anything about tomorrow or about the future. When we come to something that doesn’t make sense, we panic and ask, “Where are you God?”

I like to know beginning to end. It drives me crazy if I can’t figure out something. I am the one that has plan A, plan B, plan C, and if they should fail, I got plans D, E, and F just in case. I hear you laughing and shaking your head. However, it’s my personality; I can’t help myself. I can’t be caught off guard. I must be in control every single time. Well, this is great as the CEO of two companies but not great in navigating this thing called life.

The truth is that we can have all the plans we want, going all the way from plan A to plan Z, and yet we still can’t stop certain events from happening no matter how hard we might try. Then, we are left asking, “Where are you God in this?”

We simply cannot see into the future. Therefore, we must trust the God who does. Not only can He see the future, but He also created and numbered all of our days. He is in each day.

Life has many twists and turns, surprises at every corner, and we must see God in all of it. We must understand He is in total control, working everything out for our good.

Let me say it like this. God is in everything even when we mess up. He can take our messes and turn them into massive destinies to bring Him glory.

Please step back and look to see Him in everything even when you are the one who messed it up royally.

Sometimes we have to trust God that whatever is brought into our lives will be used to shape us into who he has created us to be.

Tonight as I reflect on some things that might not make sense to me at the moment, I’m pretty sure they will make sense in the future. The most difficult thing to do is letting go of our own thoughts, ideas, and ways. Let God take control in every single situation and watch Him work in it and see Him as the Master Planner. He is the ultimate strategist. He weaves everything in our lives, making a beautiful tapestry.

I have learned the best tapestries are the ones where mistakes were made. This is hard for me to grasp because I work hard in crossing all those T’s and dotting all those I’s. I’m not a fan of carelessness mistakes. But life doesn’t come in a neat little package. My kids roll their eyes and call me Miss Perfect because I have to have everything done right all the time. The truth is I am not perfect, don’t anyone faint now,

I am learning to see Him in everything that is allowed in my life. This revelation the past few weeks has set me free of asking the selfish question, “Where are you, God, in this?” Make a conscious decision to see Him in everything instead of asking the God of the universe who is omnipresent and omnipotent, where he is. Learn to see him in everything!

INSIGHT: The arsenal of our mind must be filled with the weapons of truth from God's Word -His promises, the teachings of Christ, the messages from the prophets, and the narratives. While we are, in fact, to break away and halt any evil practices or wickedness, we are also to have a spiritual change of mind that is a result of an inward change, filling our mind with the things of God, and aligning our thinking with how God thinks. Even our thoughts must submit to Christ and we can take any carnal thoughts into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

MEDITATION:

"You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you." -Isaiah 26:3

Do you see God in your struggles and in your circumstances? Are you worried, struggling to give it all over to Him? I encourage you to think about this verse and to hide it deep in your heart, and know that the God who holds you in His hands is able to empower you to produce wholesome thoughts that line up with how He thinks.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, You are my Yahweh Shalom, the God of Peace, and The One Who Sees All Things. Lord, I come to You, asking You to please forgive me for any unwholesome thinking that is not of You, and as I refocus and shift my thoughts back to You and Your Word, I know You will keep me in perfect peace as my mind is fixed on You because I trust You. Thank you, Lord, for the peace that only comes from You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
