If you are not willing to humble yourself before GOD and if you do not develop the heart of a servant, if you are not walking in obedience and surrender to GOD, you will render yourself ineffective.
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you. -James 4:7-10
"Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others." -Philippians 2:3-4
"Then they came to Capernaum. While Jesus was in the house, He asked them, 'What were you discussing on the way?' But they were silent, for on the way they had been arguing with each other which of them was the greatest. Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, 'If anyone wants to be first, he must be the last of all and the servant of all.' Then He had a little child stand among them. Taking the child in His arms, He said to them, 'Whoever welcomes one of these little children in My name welcomes Me, and whoever welcomes Me welcomes not only Me, but the One who sent Me.'" -Mark 9:33-37
