God's greatness amazes me!
I'm excited to share the following amazing testimony.
"And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work." -2 Corinthians 9:8
I hear many times people complain they don't have enough. I have to always hold my tongue. Many times, I know why they struggle financially. It is always because there is disobedience in some area of their lives. Don't send me any hate mail. Unless, you are prepared to prove me wrong. I am specifically and intentionally speaking here to those who claim they are in the faith. I'm more then happy to sit with you and discuss the godly principles to be practiced to receive the blessings, reserved for the righteous, and it is my pleasure and honor to help you live the blessed life.
Here are two very important words in this passage we need to pay very close attention too. Those words are "Can" and "Need."
Right off the bat, I see, "Can." God is saying , "I can give you...." Are you following Him, or is it just for what you can get out of Him? If you are in right standing with God, he gives you all you need. " I can give you..." You don't even have to say a word. In fact, you will have more then you need. It goes on to say, "You will have everything you need, and you will have much left over to give." God gives to bless us and others. It was never meant for you to hoard it. Give and it shall be given back to you.
Next important word I see is, "Need." The big question here is "Who you give too?" Well, God never leaves us without a full understanding of his word. You give, "When there is a need." Very simple for my very simple and blond brain. We should be praying, "God who is out there hurting that isn't using the biggest horn tooting, "Give me, give me?" We have to be wise and we must be led of the spirit when meeting a need. God isn't interested in us meeting needs he's not called us to meet.
Every time God has asked me to give it has been to people I didn't know, and they were secretly praying for a miracle. I only gave a couple of times to people that had complained. I am sorry I did. I met their need that God didn't lead me too. Each one of them was rude, ungrateful, and disrespectful, and in the end, gossiping and lying about me. All of the 3 women ended up doing the same. I hold myself responsible. I don't blame them. I blame me. I never asked God if I was supposed to help these three women. I felt sorry for them, and I tried to help. It was not led of God but me, and I got burned.
Notice how it starts with, "Can" and ends with "Need." We, too, can meet the need!
We need to ask God, "Who is in need?" I personally do things in secret. I never give to anyone that asks me. That's my rule. I don't want people to know I'm doing it. Those are the ones that never came back negative.
Twelve years ago, Justin was 6 years old. In prayer, God told me to pay the college tuition of a Sunday School student of mine. I knew the family was struggling and God had blessed me abundantly. God specifically told me, "I want you to pay for that boy you have taught in your class for his first year of college!" That was not a suggestion by God to me but a strong command. I did what God told me to do. Everything for his first year was paid for-room and board, food, books, classes, paid in full.
Let's fast forward to this past May, exactly 12 years later to the date. Justin graduated from High School and is headed for college. Just a few weeks before his graduation, we received a call, unexpected and not sought after. It came out of the blue. We hadn't applied for any scholarships or anything. He was being awarded a scholarship. I posted on Facebook. We were so excited since he was home schooled.
But the story doesn't end there. Now, three months later, and I realized this was no ordinary scholarship he was given. This scholarship is a full ride for his entire college career which will end with him receiving his Ph.D., 100% paid for. I don't know how I missed that, but I did. Eight years of school paid in full! And he better get that Ph.D., or he's dead meat (laugh please).
God remembered me and reminded me about my obedience to pay for that student 12 years ago. He rewarded me back not just for one year of college but Justin's entire schooling. How many students get 8 years of college paid for? The blessings of God are too big to maintain. They over flow!
The most exciting thing for me is Justin is going to major in theology and minor in counseling. Justin will be in a great position to preach, teach, and evangelize the whole world . Sharing and explaining the real gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. He will be counseling in biblical principles that are full fledged effective, and proven to work. God did a double whammy if you will. College paid in full, and Justin going to preach the Word of God.
You see, God remembers our obedience, our sacrifices, our love towards him, and those who are truly hurting. He watches closely, paying attention to our actions, words, and deeds. He then rewards accordingly.
First ask yourself, "God, what areas of my life are displeasing to you? Am I disobedient to you?" Then determine you will repent and decide to obey.
Secondly, "God, you have blessed me, how can I bless another in secret?" You will never ever out give God!
Let this great testimony of the greatness of our God speak truth into your life today. God does things like this to get us to give him glory and to help us understand biblical truth so we can apply to our lives.
We bring our tithes to the house of God, but our offerings are important, too. Look for God to lead you to people who you can bless and make sure they don't know who you are.
