Beautiful In His Time

"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end." -Ecclesiastes 3:11
I am reminded of the perfect timing of God. I used to be in a hurry to see the promises of God quickly come to pass. I suppose most of us are in a hurry to get those things we believe God has for us. However, we can't wrap our little brain around another important factor, "God has a beginning and an ending!"
During the waiting time, God is preparing us for what he's about to give us. To rush God is useless because he is working behind the scenes at things we don't know, or understand.
I used to say, "Please God can you hurry it along? Then, I had an epiphany moment, and this moment has totally changed me. God had to bring me to a place of fully surrendering my will for His. I literally had to change my thought pattern, and process according to His word, and take on the mind of Christ.
Looking, desiring, and seeking after the will of God is extremely important. This means letting go of our timetables and timelines and allowing the Spirit of God to lead us. Who can fathom what God is doing from beginning to end in the situations we find ourselves in? Who can even understand it? No one!
Be encouraged today. God does have a plan in motion. He is in the process of working all things together for our good. The promises of God all have beginnings and endings. The real question is are you willing to obey and wait for what he has promised?
Be very careful you don't set yourself above God. You might think, that's silly of course I know better. Truth is you don't know better! If you are walking in gloom, worry, and obsessing over the promises of God still pending, you have declared your sovereignty over His. Automatically, you become out of order and in the danger zone.
Rushing God is never a good idea. He wouldn't be moved anyway. The problem is we then decide to move in our own limited understanding. Then we try bring about the promises to pass in our own way. Big mistake. Horrific, life altering mistake when we decide to barge ahead. We then end up forfeiting his promises because we don't want to wait any longer.
May I humbly ask us to look deep inside ourselves and ask two questions?
INSIGHT: First question, God do I play a role in the timing of the promise? In other words am I in the right state of mind, right state of being, right standing before you. Am I ready for what God said would happen? Second question, is it the right time. Is this the right season in my life, in my environment. Where does it fit in my life? God will not bring anything that might destroy us if we are not where we are supposed to be in life. This includes spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually. To do so would destroy the beauty of what God promised. I hate to say it, but if we are not maturely or spiritually ready we are going to mess it up. Even destroying it.
Those that hope in the Lord will never be disappointed. They will never be put to shame. They will never be allowed to fail. They will never be forgotten by God. Stand and wait for God to move.
MEDITATION: "Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly, Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary." (Isaiah 40:28-31)
We must be patient and never give up on the promises no matter how long it takes. We must be hopeful. We must keep believing. We must keep trusting. We must stay put in the path God has asked us to travel in. We must remain faithful and true. Believing what he said. Trusting and believing that what he promised will come to pass. Abraham believed God. Therefore, he obeyed.
Let me remind you, strongly. God is the Rewarder of those who trust Him. He gives us the grace to keep going when we feel like giving up and calling it quits. His presence is with us. He encourages us to keep going in our walk with him. He sends angels along the way with words of encouragement. A very present help in our time of need.
Let God do what He needs to do. The preparation process isn't easy. No one said the will of God is so understandable or easy. We walk by faith and not by sight. Allow God to be God and do what he needs to do. Remember the potter? If he goes to fast making his masterpiece he can destroy the piece and has to throw it away. God doesn't throw people away.
Patience is always rewarded, and it's always on God's timetable not ours.
"Those that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength." Throw it back where it belongs and let God be God. Be YOU strong and courageous. Determine you will remain in HIS will and don't move from that position.
He makes everything beautiful, perfect, and great in his time and not one second faster. "All things work out for the good and for those who are called according to his purposes."
Did you catch that? "His purposes!"
Final question: Are you going after your purposes or His?

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, my God and Savior, the One Who Watches Over Me, The One Who Never Slumbers or Sleeps, thank You for working things out for my good and for calling me according to Your purposes. Thank You for ordaining my steps. Thank You for Your perfect timing and teaching me to wait on You. Father, You make everything beautiful in its time. You are the One Who Gives Me Strength. Your grace is more than enough, Your mercies new every morning, and Your compassion fails not. Lord, I surrender my will and submit my desires to You for You are God, and I long to please You. Continue to teach me Your ways. Light the path You have marked out for me so I can see clearly. Be my Guide along this path You have me on, and lead me into Your truth. I am trusting You and Your timing to bring forth Your purposes and will in my life. I place my hope and trust in You alone. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
