"There the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, 'I will go over and see this strange sight –why the bush does not burn up.'" -Exodus 3: 2-3 How is God speaking to you? God used something extraordinary to get the attention of Moses. Notice how Moses didn’t see the Angel in flames of fire from a bush?! May I suggest to you the burning, raging flames that you are going through, God Himself is in it with you?! Sometimes, God allows a powerful, intense, storm to hit our lives. It erupts from nowhere, and it explodes uncontrollably. You feel as if you can't take it. It’s too intense and overpowering to you, but you are not in the fire, alone. Moses could have been filled with fear, panic, and fright. But he wasn’t. Watch what he says, “I will go over and see this strange sight...”
In the New Testament, it says, Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy," (1 Peter 4:12). Do you remember another story where Daniel and his friends were thrown into the fiery furnace? Who was there visibly that was seen by those who threw them in there? That’s right, an Angel! Oh, I get excited over this bible verse! I see a God that is with us no matter where he leads us. We are not to think it “strange” when we go through “fiery trials.” We don’t need to stress out, be filled with anxiety, panic, dread the outcome, be terrified, or be apprehensive because the King of kings and the Lord of lords is in the fire! Have you considered, in this fire, is where God will speak forth from? You see it goes on to say, "When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the brush, 'Moses! Moses! And Moses said, 'Here I am!'" You see, Moses did something; he had to walk over there. When God saw him coming, He called out to him! Pay close attention. Moses saw it! He didn’t panic, freak out, or terrified. He walked over to check it out. Let me ask you, can you see God in your fiery trials? Will you walk over to that trial and see what God might be saying to you? You have to ask God. You have to seek God. God will be found by you when you seek Him with all your heart. Look, look closely and you will see God in the flames of fire from within your “bush!” God speaks the loudest when the fire rages within because he is a consuming fire! Be consumed by Him and allow Him to burn off all that will stop you from being whom He has created you to be.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, You are the God Who Is Always With Me. You are the One Who Refines Me. Father, open my eyes that I might see You in every trial. Let me be consumed with You and purify me that I might come forth like gold. Fill me with love and with hope because Your perfect love expels all fear. May Your Holy Spirit be my Guide into all truth. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
