“I am a rose of Sharon, a lily growing in the valleys. [Groom] Like a lily among thorns, so is my true love among the young women.” -Song of Solomon 2: 1-2 (GW)

Child of God, you are His beloved!

The Rose of Sharon and Lily of the Valley are well known in Israel. They are everywhere. In fact, they are common flowers. They are beautiful, but they are not rare. She was saying to King Solomon, I am no one special. I am ordinary, just an ordinary girl, but Solomon was a man deeply in love! His response was, “Like a lily among thorns, so is my true love among the young women.” He goes on to call her “My Darling.” She was his beloved, his honey, his love, his dearest of heart; She was his Sweetheart. To him, she was beautiful. She was gorgeous, and he loved her deeply! She was precious to him. I want you to see yourself this way before God. In essence, Song of Solomon is a love story. It is a love story between a man and a woman, a king and a fair maiden. God is your King. He is the Lover of your Soul. You are His love, the apple of His eye. It doesn’t matter what you think you have done; it doesn’t matter how you see yourself. It doesn’t matter the hurts, the mistakes, the failures, or the sins you have committed. It doesn’t matter if you think that you are no one special because it is total opposite of what He thinks of you. You are His precious and valued treasure! You are like a pearl of great find. You are His love; you are wonderful. You are a delight before Him. You are amazing. You are perfect because He made you to stand out among the thorns.

MEDITATION: "You have captivated my heart, my sister, my bride; you have captivated my heart with one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace," (Song of Solomon 4:9 ESV). How should you look at your Beloved God? He is worthy to be praised because He is awesome, beautiful, caring, marvelous, majestic, priceless, loving, and worthy of your adoration. Today, go in front of a mirror, and really look at yourself and thank God of how He sees you. Speak His love words over your life because You are His darling and the most beautiful rose of Sharon! You stand out among the rest. I ask you, "How about falling in love with Jesus?" He is the lover of your soul.

Will you accept His love and return it?

PRAYER: Father in Heaven, You have made me beautiful, and I am fearfully and wonderfully made. You have created me from the inside out, and You have seen Your creation and call it good. Help to me see myself as extraordinary, valuable, precious in Your sight. Teach me how You have loved me and show me what Your love does as I study the pages of Your Word. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
