God Hears Our Cries

"During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God. God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob." -Exodus 2:23-24 During those long periods of your life, God is getting ready to give you a miracle! You see when the time seems to be stretched out, and everything is so prolonged, and you feel like giving up, STAND STILL! Please ask God to open your mind and let the Holy Spirit help you understand this truth. Do you see how long they had to wait for that promise? God made that promise to Abraham. He was long dead, and so was his son Isaac, and Isaac’s son, Jacob. However, a day is like a thousand years to him. He didn’t forget that promise. You see, we are not any different than the Israelites. We groan, moan, grumble, complain, gripe, and if you are like me, at times, I speak grunt too! But my point is clear, we don’t know how to sit and wait still before God. We cry out to him in an attitude that is really not godly, like a spoiled child, that doesn’t get her/his way. We make it harder to sit and enjoy the presence of God in the waiting. This is not a good place to be in. Other times we are in real pain and agony for God to come in and rescue us. I assure you He hears our cry to Him. He knows exactly the right time to come. There is an appointed time. The Israelites were being brutally treated. They were beaten, and killed. They were worked hard, and whipped as they worked. You honestly think God didn’t see that? Of course, he saw it. He had a plan, but the plan was for a time. It is the same today.

REFLECTION: "The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth. He grants the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cries for help and rescues them," (Psalm 145:18-19 NLT). He sees your tears; He sees the pain, the hurt, and he does see your suffering! He is saying to you, “No harm, no damage, no injury, will come to you. I will not allow you to be broken. I am working all things out to benefit and bless you in the middle of your long period of time”. You will see the miracles I will perform in your behalf!” Remember all the miracles God performed for His people as they left for the Promised Land. God never changed; He wants to do it for you as well.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, You are the God Who Hears and You are the God Who Sees All. You know all I have need of and all I desire before I even ask. Thank You for being the Miracle Maker. Father, I am waiting on You as I be still and know You are God, as I am learning to trust You more and more. Help me and teach me not to complain and grumble but to always remember my hope is found in You. Continue to be with me on the journey You have me on, and in all my ways, I will acknowledge You knowing You will direct my paths. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
