“I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.” -Esther 4:16 We have all been in a situation or situations when fear has gripped us. We see this in the Bible too, many great women of faith facing fear. Queen Esther was afraid to go to the king. She told that to Mordecai just a few verses before the one above. She had every right to be frightened. The law was that a Queen had to be summoned by the King. If she came on her own and the King didn’t want to see her, she could be killed. Like Esther, we have moments of real fear. However, there comes a point in our lives when we realize living in fear is a terrible place to be in. We know that God repeatedly tells us, “Fear NOT!” God told the Israelites when they faced armies that were greater in strength and numbers than they, “Do not be afraid of them for I am with you.” Today, God is saying to you, “Do not be afraid, for I am with you!” Do you realize that the God of the universe is actually walking with you, taking care of you in the situation saying, "You are my child." What peace there is for the children of God! We serve a God that will never leave us nor forsake us.
REFLECTION: “I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears,” (Psalm 34:4). This verse makes me want to jump up and down with great joy. If you seek the Lord, He tells you He will be found by you, He will answer you, and He will deliver you from Fear! Not just one fear but ALL your fears! You can trust our faithful God to deliver you from the gripping fear that plagues you at this moment. God say’s that perfect love casts out fear. It took me a while to understand that God is love, and we are His beloved. As we seek God, He makes this truth known to us. We then receive His deliverance and all fears have to go in the name of our Lord because He is taking care of us. When you face fear, do what Esther did. Acknowledge, and go to God in prayer. She called for prayer and fasting by Mordecai and her maidens. God honored her and took the fear away so she could do what God wanted her to do. Fear grips us, and stops us from functioning. This is not of God; we can conquer fear because our Lord conquered everything. We are more than victorious because God’s word say’s so!

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, You are the God of Victory, and You have upheld me with Your righteous right hand. You are the All-Powerful God, and Father, You have empowered me. Your Word says perfect love expels all fear and that You have not given me the spirit of fear but of love and of power and a sound mind. Lord, I put my faith and trust in You alone for I know You are able. Where there is unbelief, O God, help my unbelief. Strengthened me to keep me from falling, and be the Guard who surrounds me. Empower me by Your Holy Spirit as I take a stand for You and help me to remain steadfast in You as I obey Your Word. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
