“For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear, I will help you. Do not be afraid.”

(Isaiah 41:13)

What is it that is making you frightened, anxious, worried, and terrified! What are you dreading? Whatever it is God is reminding you that He is taking you by the hand, and He is saying do not be scared. You don’t have to be terrified or troubled because He has you by the right hand, and He will walk you through to the other side safely. Being held by the hand of God is nothing like being held by a human hand. His hand is powerful and strong to quiet, to still your heart and bring peace to your mind. Precious child of God, know that God is able to take care for you, in every situation you find yourself in. He is not going to leave you alone. He is saying to you, “for I am the Lord, your God.” This means, He is there, present, and He is situated prominently right in the middle of your fears! God is upright, just, and fair. He is honorable and righteous. No wonder He would say to you do not fear. Do not be terrified, do not panic about anything. Don’t be alarmed. This is what God means when He tells you not to fear.

INSIGHT: Why would you fear when God is there to aid you? He is going to give you relief and comfort. He is going to ease and alleviate you of your fear. Do you remember when the disciples and Jesus were in the boat, and the fierce storm arose? Do you remember that Jesus was sound asleep? The disciples went down to tell him they were going to sink, they were filled with fear, but Jesus was sound asleep. What did Jesus say to them? Where is your faith? He rebuked the raging sea and the storm subsided. Jesus Christ still rebukes the storms that come into your life! Right now, he is rebuking your storm! Peace be still!

MEDITATE: "There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love." (1 John 4:18) Perfect love casts out fear! Who is perfect love? God is perfect love; he will not allow you to be destroyed. He doesn’t want you to be filled with fear. Fear paralyzes. We are to toss, throw away; literally you are to trash it! Be still before God today and rest in His unfailing love. He cares for you! Fear not for He is with you. He will not leave you alone.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, forgive me for being fearful because You have not given me a spirit of fear but of love and of power and of a sound mind. Where there is unbelief, help my unbelief and fill me with faith that comes from You. You, O God, are my confidence and I am hidden in the Cleft of the Rock. You quiet my soul in the midst of anything I am facing. Thank You for being my Yahweh Shalom, for being The God of Peace. Because of Your provision at Calvary, I can be confident in You to calm the sea. Abba, You have made me perfected in love, and therefore, because You have perfected me, I need not fear. Thank You for Your Presence wherever I am, and thank You for the hope You have given me. To You, O Lord, be all the praise. In Jesus' name, Amen.
